Issues related to the preparations for the next round of Geneva discussions, scheduled for the end of March this year, were discussed at a video link between the Plenipotentiary of the President of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev on Wednesday with the co-chair of the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia, the representative of the Swedish chairmanship OSCE by Annika Söder.
According to the press service of the permanent mission, the Deputy Plenipotentiary of the President, the head of the South Ossetian delegation in the IPRM format Yegor Kochiev and representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Marina Ualyty also participated for the South Ossetian part.
“The participants reiterated the positive significance of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM)in the Geneva Discussions and agreed on the need to hold another IPRM meeting in the near future.
They also discussed humanitarian issues, including the questions of clarifying the fate of South Ossetian residents to be listed missing. In this vein, the cooperation of the parties with the International Committee of the Red Cross was positively assessed, "the Embassy said.
