The Geneva discussions, South Ossetia will again raise the issue of non-use of force and will strive for important steps in this direction,” the Presidential Envoy, head of the South Ossetian delegation at the discussions, Murat Dzhioev, told the IA “Res”.

The next 52nd round of discussions will take place on March 25-26, the delegation of South Ossetia left for Geneva on Thursday.

According to Murat Dzhioev, the signing of a legally binding document on the non-use of force between South Ossetia and Georgia, Abkhazia and Georgia remains important, but the non-constructive position of the Georgian delegation hinders progress in this direction.

“Nevertheless, we believe that work in this direction should be continued, since everyone needs security, and we, all the more, need guarantees that Georgia will henceforth renounce its claims to the territory of South Ossetia and the threat of the use of force,” said Dzhioev ...

He has stressed that real results are expected in South Ossetia and in other countries participating in the negotiations.

The Geneva discussions on Transcaucasia are the only platform for dialogue between Tskhinval, Sukhum and Tbilisi, based on the agreements between the presidents of the Russian Federation and France, reached after the act of Georgia's aggression in August 2008. The talks in Geneva are attended by representatives of Abkhazia, Georgia, Russia, the United States and South Ossetia, as well as observers from the UN, the European Union and the OSCE. The main goal of the discussions is to reach a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force between South Ossetia and Georgia, Abkhazia and Georgia.
