South Ossetia does not expect any help from Georgia, and does not even want it,” said Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev at the press conference in Tskhinval.
Murat Dzhioev reacted to the proposal of the Georgian authorities to vaccinate residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia against coronavirus.
"At the Geneva discussions, the issue of vaccination was not raised, although the representative of Georgia mentioned it in one phrase," the Plenipotentiary said.
The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry earlier reacted to the statement of the head of the Georgian Health Ministry on this issue.
According to the Plenipotentiary, Georgia offers a vaccine that is not enough for themselves. “This is nothing more than political propaganda. They tried to offer assistance a year ago, but even then, we explained that we were ready to cooperate with those international organizations that were really ready to provide assistance to South Ossetia, which would be delivered to the Republic only from Russia,” he said.
Dzhioev has stressed that in Geneva they once again thanked Russia for its assistance in the fight against coronavirus, the ICRC, which does not politicize its activities and is working in South Ossetia. “Regarding others, we explained that in their actions there is more politics than a desire to help. In Georgia itself, the situation is far from being the best,” the Envoy said.
