Ossetian judoka Inal Tasoev won the European Championship in the heavyweight class, over 100 kg, held in Lisbon.
As reported by "Soviet Sport", Inal got a very difficult opponent in the final: two-time bronze medalist of the Olympic Games, three-time silver medalist of the world championships, two-time European champion Henk Grohl.
Very experienced, eminent, but at the same time convenient for the Russian: in two head-to-head fights with the Dutchman, Tasoev won victories. The fight in Lisbon was no exception. Inal was very active from the very beginning, and already in the second minute of match, he made a beautiful throw for ippon.
