Russian boxer entered the ring for the last time on October 31, 2020
Russian boxer Murat Gassiev may hold the next fight in the summer, the athlete's team reported to the media.
"Murat can return to the ring in the summer," the agency's source said.
Gassiev knocked out Albanian Nuri Seferi on October 31 last year, returning to the ring after more than a two-year break. In total, the 27-year-old Russian has 27 wins (20 by knockout) and one defeat. The fight took place in the heavyweight division.
In 2016, Gassiev won the International Boxing Federation (IBF) World Heavyweight Championship by defeating compatriot Denis Lebedev, then defended his belt once. In 2018, Gassiev added the World Boxing Association (WBA) belt to the IBF title by defeating Cuban Uniel Dorticos. Then the Russian lost to the Ukrainian Alexander Usik and parted with two world titles.
