In June 2021, 32 violators of legislation in the border sphere were detained at various sections of the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia (in May of this year - 36), incl. 11 violators of the state border regime and 21 border regimes, according to the press service of the State Security Committee of the Republic.
"For each fact, proper investigations were carried out, administrative measures were taken, and explanatory work was carried out. At the same time, 12 people were subjected to administrative fines, five detainees were expelled from the Republic of South Ossetia without penalties, 15 were warned about the inadmissibility of illegal activities," the KGB said.
The KGB has noted that due to the complication of the epidemiological situation in Georgia, as well as in order to counteract the penetration of the so-called. of the Indian strain COVID-19 to the territory of the Republic, the KGB PS recommends that residents of the border settlements of the Republic of South Ossetia, when detecting violators of the state border, exclude contact with these persons, immediately inform the border authorities, and also provide assistance in other issues of protecting the state border.
The border service of the KGB of the RSO has informed the citizens and guests of the Republic planning their trips to places of rest located in the border zone of the RSO about the need to have identity documents (passport, service card, for minors - a birth certificate, and for foreign citizens - also passes to the border zone).
The border service of the RSO KGB has reminded the citizens of the Republic, organizations and state enterprises that with the beginning of the period of agricultural works, as well as in order to exclude the facts of violation of legislation in the border area, when traveling to settlements located in the RSO border zone, it is necessary in advance apply for appropriate permits.
