South Ossetian Foreign Minister Dmitry Medoev, during a working trip to Moscow, on the invitation of the Nicaraguan side, took part in the reception on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista revolution, which was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Nicaragua in the Russian Federation.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, on Tuesday Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Moncada Colindres, who is in Moscow on an official visit, attended the reception.
"Representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Russia, Russian public figures, representatives of the creative intelligentsia were invited to the holiday. Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to the Russian Federation Alba Asucena Torres Mejia addressed the audience with a welcoming speech," the press service noted.
Medoev in his speech congratulated the audience and the entire people of Nicaragua on this momentous event and conveyed greetings and wishes to the President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega from the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov.
"The victory of the Sandinista People's Revolution is a demonstration of the Nicaraguan people's adherence to the ideals of freedom, independence and social justice. I wish them peace and prosperity," said the South Ossetian Foreign Minister.
The event was also attended by Ambassador of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev, Trade Representative of the Republic in Russia Taimuraz Goginov, as well as the Embassy staff, who deployed a national tent at the reception with a presentation of traditional Ossetian cuisine and products of the South Ossetian enterprises.
On the same day, the meeting of the Foreign Minister of the Republic Dmitry Medoev with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua Denis Moncada Colindres took place.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of further strengthening and expanding bilateral ties. Medoev invited Denis Monkada to visit South Ossetia at a convenient time. The invitation was accepted with gratitude.
Denis Moncada is on an official visit to Moscow, where, following talks with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, was signed.an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of international information security.
