Arrivals of the crews of the South Ossetian Ministry of Defense team at the Tank Biathlon competition of the International Army Games-2021 will start on August 24.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry, at the initial stage, South Ossetian tankers will perform in an individual race: the first crew on the 24th at 11:00, the second and third on the 26th and 28th, respectively. The semi-final and final relay races will start on August 31st.
The South Ossetian team participates in the second division of the competition with tanks painted yellow. Its rivals are teams from Abkhazia, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Myanmar and Tajikistan.
The first division has included 11 teams from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia, Syria and Uzbekistan.
The VII International Army Games will be held from August 22 to September 4, 2021. ARMY-2021 will be held in conjunction with the events of the International Military-Technical Forum ARMY-2021 from 22 to 28 August 2021 at the facilities of the Alabino training ground and the Patriot Park.
Tank Biathlon competitions are held in two divisions. The composition of the divisions is determined by the team's place in the final ranking of the results of the competition held in the previous year. In the case of an odd number of teams, the first division includes most of them.
The team of the second division, which took first place in the previous competition, this year will perform in the first division. The team of the first division, which took the last place according to the results of the previous competition, will perform in the second division this year.
The competition is held in three stages: an individual race in which all teams participate, as well as semifinal and final relay races in each division.
