South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev took part in the memorial meeting of Nafi Dzhusoity at the Russian Culture Foundation in Moscow, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reports.
“The event in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Ossetian poet, a playwright, publicist, literary scholar, translator and people's writer of Ossetia was organized by the permanent mission of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania to President of Russia together with the Embassy of South Ossetia in Russia and the Moscow Ossetian community,” the press service said.
It was noted that those who had known the poet well, colleagues, fans, and relatives gathered for the evening of memory. Among them were the Soviet statesman and politician Felix Sanakoev, who had been friends with the writer for over 50 years, as well as Salikhat Gamzatova, the daughter of Rasul Gamzatov, whose poems Nafi Dzhusoity translated into Ossetian.
On behalf of President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, Akhsar Dzhioev expressed the words of greeting and gratitude to the organizers and participants of the memorial meeting, noting the importance of the events on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Nafi Dzhusoity, which are currently taking place in both South Ossetia and North Ossetia.
Many kind words were said about Nafi Dzhusoity. Poems and songs that the poet loved so much were recited from the stage. A documentary about the life and work of the great Ossetian was also shown.
