On Sunday the military of Russia and Algeria took part in the opening ceremony of the first Russian-Algerian exercises at the Tarskoye training ground in North Ossetia. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Military District.
"The opening ceremony of the first international Russian-Algerian exercises was held at the Tarskoe South Ossetia training ground in North Ossetia. The event was attended by representatives of the command of the Southern Military District, the Algerian National People's Army and the military orchestra of the Southern Military District association," the message reads.
After the solemn raising of the state flags of the Russian Federation and Algeria and the performance of the national anthems of the countries, the participants in the exercises were greeted by the commander of the 58th Army motorized rifle unit Dmitry Uskov, who wished the servicemen successful cooperation at the training grounds and at sea, and also expressed confidence that the exercises would further strengthen the bilateral Russian-Algerian cooperation.
By the end of the year, servicemen of the Southern Military District will take part in the international exercises with units of the armed forces of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Armenia, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
