A command-staff mobilization exercise is being held in Abkhazia, in which servicemen of the Defense Ministry of South Ossetia are taking part, the press service of the defense department reported.
An agreement on the participation of the RSO servicemen in the exercise was reached between the Commanders-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the states, Anatoly Bibilov and Aslan Bzhania.
In the national army, this agreement was received with great enthusiasm, the personnel showed purposefulness at the stage of preparation at the points of permanent deployment and will be active during their direct participation.
The plan of the exercise provides, in addition to other goals and objectives, the drawing of the stage of live firing with the participation of all involved and interacting subunits, artillery and aviation forces and means. Personnel from South Ossetia will be used as part of a tactical airborne assault force, as well as for subsequent joint training and combat missions to destroy a potential enemy.
According to Defense Minister Ibragim Gasseev, cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Armenia in the military sphere is active and continuous, and the participation of military personnel of the national army in joint exercises will serve not only to exchange experience, but also to strengthen military comradeship and brotherhood in arms.
In addition to the special forces, a delegation of the South Ossetian Defense Ministry headed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces - First Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Fedorov also went to Abkhazia.
