A meeting of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva Discussions with the EU, UN and OSCE co-chairs, who arrived to discuss the agenda of the upcoming round, is taking place in Tskhinval.
The head of the South Ossetian delegation, State Adviser to the President Konstantin Kochiev greeted the co-chairs, having noted that this is the last meeting in the outgoing year, during which it is planned to discuss the issues on the agenda of the next round.
“In the context of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, I am glad to see everyone in full health. On the agenda is the discussion of security issues in the Republic of South Ossetia, humanitarian issues and, first of all, issues related to the missing citizens of South Ossetia. some topical issues and the head of the South Ossetian delegation, Yegor Kochiev, will tell you more about the results, "the State Adviser has emphasized.
The EU Co-Chair Toivo Klaar expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. The OSCE Co-Chair Annika Seder, in turn, drew attention to the fact that the meeting in the IPRM format, which taken place the day before, was fruitful. "We are monitoring the situation ... as well as increasing our involvement in the issue of the missing citizens of South Ossetia," she said, calling the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia the “administrative line."
Cihan Sultanoglu, the UN co-chair, expressed her readiness for a fruitful dialogue and added that the last meeting in the IPRM format this year was attended by the "two co-chairs - women, this was the first time."
Konstantin Kochiev has noted that when women appear as leaders in such a serious meeting, it means that the situation is peaceful and calm.
The meeting is being held in a closed format without the participation of media representatives.
