Ministry of Justice of South Ossetia signed a cooperation program for two years with the Ministry of Justice of Russia

Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Justice of the Republic of South Ossetia signed the Cooperation Program for 2022-2023 in the format of video conferencing. According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, the document was signed by Minister of Justice of the Republic Zalina Lalieva and Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuichenko.

For the South Ossetian part, the event was also attended by the head of the Bailiffs Service of the Ministry of Justice Vadim Dzhagaev and Deputy Head of the Penitentiary Department Dzhemal Khubaev, for the Russian part - Acting, Director of the International Law and Cooperation Department of the MJ Ekaterina Kudelich ; and, Deputy Director of the International Law and Cooperation Department of the MJ Maxim Vorobiev .

During his welcoming speech, Konstantin Chuichenko has noted that for the Ministry of Justice of Russia, joint work with the Ministry of Justice of South Ossetia is an extremely important area of ​​international cooperation, and has also stressed that the Russian and South Ossetian departments have all the necessary opportunities to increase the dynamics of bilateral cooperation in the legal sphere.

“We would like to reflect in the Cooperation Program our readiness to share with our South Ossetian colleagues the most relevant developments in the field of digitalization, the use of artificial intelligence technology in various fields, maintaining a civil registry, state registration and examination of regulatory legal acts, interaction in the provision of international legal assistance. I would like to assure that we will also be happy to apply the positive experience of the South Ossetian Ministry of Justice in these and other issues,” the Minister said.

Zalina Lalieva, has stressed that the signing and implementation of the Cooperation Program, within the framework of which it is planned to implement measures in key areas of activity of the Ministry of Justice of Russia and the Ministry of Justice of South Ossetia, will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

“A truly unique model of interstate friendship has developed between our countries, and today our relations are being built in the spirit of good neighborliness, respect and mutual consideration of interests, and also cover numerous areas of cooperation, including the legal sphere.

We value this very much and will in every possible way support the achieved level of our contacts, working on their further development and deepening. Today's event and the main issue on the agenda are a vivid confirmation of this,” said Zalina Lalieva.

At the end of the event, after the solemn signing of the Cooperation Program, the Russian colleague congratulated Zalina Lalieva and all the staff of the Ministry of Justice of South Ossetia on the upcoming New Year.

Konstantin Chuichenko has also invited Zalina Lalieva to take part in the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, which will be held in the summer of 2022.

In turn, Zalina Lalieva thanked Konstantin Chuichenko for the invitation and also congratulated him and all employees of the Ministry of Justice of Russia on the upcoming new year, 2022 and the bright holiday of Christmas. She has expressed hope that the next meeting with her Russian counterpart will take place in the format of a personal meeting, and all the agreements reached will be successfully implemented in 2022.

In response to the invitation from Zalina Lalieva to visit South Ossetia, Konstantin Chuychenko expressed his readiness to visit the Republic.

“As an assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, I have been to South Ossetia many times. My first visit took place in August 2008, after the well-known events. I have the warmest memories and a very good impression of the Republic and the people who live there, therefore I accept your invitation, Zalina Yurievna, with great joy,” he said.

The Cooperation program lays the foundation for subsequent bilateral cooperation in the legal field, the key areas of interaction will be digitalization, departmental rule-making, monitoring of law enforcement, forensic examination, state accounting and systematization of regulatory legal acts, the formation and maintenance of a unified electronic database of civil status records, exchange of experience in the sphere of execution of criminal sentences, compulsory execution, etc.
