The backup power transmission line in South Ossetia, which was put into operation at the end of November last year, will contribute to the development of the economy in the country, President of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
"I consider the reserve line, which allowed us not to go through such periods of time when there is no light throughout the republic, to be a strategically important object for the state and its people," Bibilov said.
According to him, the uninterrupted supply of electricity to the Republic will contribute to the development of energy-intensive production capacities, which are being implemented and will be implemented in the future.
"The line will contribute to the development of the economy as a whole," he said.
Another landmark project for the state, the head of state called the gasification of the Republic.
“This is a strategically important project for the development of South Ossetia, its implementation is a prospect for the near future. We will definitely implement this direction,” the President has noted.
