In Tskhinval, it has been discussed socio-economic cooperation between Russia and South Ossetia, the implementation of the Investment Program and the state program for socio-economic development of the Republic.
The meeting was attended by President Alan Gagloev, members of the government of the Republic headed by Chairman Konstantin Dzhussoev, head of the Russian delegation - Head of the Presidential Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Igor Maslov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Volvach, Russian Ambassador to the Republic Marat Kulakhmetov and other officials.
“Today we will discuss the implementation of the investment program. There are issues that require our common attention. We are also ready to listen to suggestions and additions from our esteemed Russian colleagues. Once again, welcome to South Ossetia,” said Alan Gagloev.
Igor Maslov has noted that they are also happy to be in the Republic.
According to him, the meeting is dedicated to finding solutions to the problems that exist today in joint work in the implementation of the socio-economic cooperation program.
“Not everything is clear, not everything is simple. We all have some preliminary coordinated decisions that were worked out jointly with the South Ossetian party, the Russian government. I hope that, as usual, we will have a frank conversation. If there are any comments on the solutions proposed in the reports by colleagues, please voice them. If you think that adjustments need to be made, let's also discuss this and find solutions,” said the head of the department.
Productive meeting on the sidelines of the Caucasian Investment Exhibition
According to Maslov, the effectiveness of the agreed programs and the achievement of the set goals will depend on today's meeting.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia has noted that at the end of last year important decisions were made at the Intergovernmental Commission, and there was also a productive meeting on the sidelines of the Caucasian Investment Exhibition.
“You had a great booth. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin paid special attention to how our relations are developing, and I think that the investment opportunities of the Republic should be presented as often as possible. We would very much like the opportunities of South Ossetia to be maximally represented at all venues. Export and tourism potential is what we really need in order to attract investors and tourists here, thereby positively influencing the economic situation in the Republic,” Volvach said.
He shared that the implementation of the investment program was regularly monitored, and that the Russian party is carefully watching to ensure that the most effective and necessary projects for the Republic are included in the list of the program.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the fraternal republic for the fact that the best sons of South Ossetia, shoulder to shoulder with the Russian army, are solving the most important task in the special military operation zone and do not give a chance for Nazi revenge.
“We are very grateful to you for this, and our task is on the economic track, so that against this background we do not slow down the pace gained last year.
The fact that the Republic has switched to customs tariffs of the EAEU should have a positive impact. I think this is an important track, which we will also continue,” added Volvach.
Development of the tourism industry
He has stressed that the main task is to open up the investment potential of South Ossetia for the Russian investor, so that as many private investments as possible come to the Republic.
I would single out a tourist track separately. We need to work seriously to increase the flow of Russian tourists to the republic. Along with tourists it will increase economy, infrastructure and investment. It seems to me that this is good and right," the Russian official said.
Volvach shared that he would like the Republic, in the understanding of the Russian tourist, to be part of the Caucasian tourism cluster, where one can always come to relax and improve health.
The meeting continued with a discussion of issues of socio-economic cooperation between the two states without representatives of the media.
A delegation of representatives of the Russian Presidential Administration for Interregional and Intercultural Relations headed by its head Igor Maslov, the Ministry of Economic Development headed by Deputy Minister Dmitry Volvach and the Ministry of Energy headed by Deputy Director of the Department of Special Programs Petr Vorontsov arrived in South Ossetia the day before. They examined a number of construction sites in the capital, Dzau and Znaur districts, and a trip to Leningor district is also planned on Friday.
