The leadership of the Boris Galaev State Song and Dance Group of South Ossetia "Simd» decided to postpone the first concert this year for an indefinite period, the press service of the Group told the “Res” news agency.
As noted by the ensemble, the concert was canceled due to a special military operation in Ukraine, where Russian military personnel, including natives of Ossetia, are participating.
“The concert was planned, around the 20th of March, the group was supposed to present two new compositions. The performance of the State Group has been postponed indefinitely until the situation in Ukraine stabilizes. "Simd" continues to work on the program n the normal mode," the press service said.
In addition to new numbers, the concert program will also perform classical dance compositions of the state group.
The South Ossetian State Song and Dance Group was founded in 1938 by the decision of the Central Executive Committee of South Ossetia. It included the best forces of already existing amateur groups. Composer Boris Galaev was appointed the artistic director.
The founder of the Simd State Song and Dance Group, Boris Galaev was an outstanding folklorist, composer, public figure and remained the permanent leader of the ensemble for 14 years. Galaev made a huge contribution to the development of the Ossetian music and is the author of a large number of major vocal, choral and instrumental works.
