President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov commented on the situation on the border of the Republic with neighboring Georgia against the backdrop of the events in Ukraine and the upcoming NATO exercises.
“We are closely monitoring the situation on the border, there are minor reinforcements of posts, but they do not pose a threat to the security of our state at the moment. There are no grounds for alarm, residents of the Republic should not be afraid, they can be calm,” the head of state said during a live broadcast on Instagram.
According to him, the 4th Russian base is deployed on the territory of South Ossetia, which is a guarantor for the security of the Republic.
“The units that we have also provide security. We have the necessary forces and means to protect our state. In any case, we will continue to closely monitor the situation on the border with Georgia, we will continue to do everything possible to make our people feel protected and safe,” the head of state stressed.
