On Sunday morning, On the eve of the celebration of Victory Day in the capital of South Ossetia, started the annual patriotic campaign "George's Ribbon» .

As Minister of Culture of South Ossetia Zhanna Zasseeva told the IA “Res” , more than 10,000 St. George ribbons will be distributed this year in South Ossetia.

“When I heard that Kazakhstan was abandoning the Immortal Regiment and the Victory Parade, this is the birthplace of Aliya Moldagulova, these are 28 Panfilov’s, I thought that the world had gone crazy. This disease is called unconsciousness, thank God, my people do not even have such thoughts,” the Minister said.

Zhanna Zasseeva has noted that the action will be held until May 9 and will cover all districts of the Republic.

A decade of festive events in South Ossetia dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be held under the title "The bells of history are ringing, calling to my Memory!".

The first action "St. George Ribbon" was held in 2005 in the year of the 60th anniversary of the Victory. Black and orange ribbons have become a symbol of memory of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, a sign of eternal gratitude to the veterans who liberated the world from fascism.
