President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov held a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Abkhazia, which arrived in the Republic of South Ossetia as international observers for the presidential elections, the press service of the head of state reports.
The delegation has included the RA Minister of Emergency Situations Lev Kvitsinia, the RA Ambassador to South Ossetia Alan Elbakiev, representatives of the deputy corps.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Azamat Chochiev.
Greeting the guests, Anatoly Bibilov thanked them for their visit and congratulated them on the upcoming Great Victory Day, and also conveyed his best wishes to the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhaniya.
“I congratulate you on the Great Victory Day. We are celebrating 77 years of pride in our ancestors who showed courage and heroism, fighting shoulder to shoulder. But, unfortunately, today we see that fascism has reared its head again. This chapter is tragic not only for Ukraine, but also for us. The decision of the Russian Federation to conduct a special military operation was the only correct one. We, the fraternal republics, have rallied together and are fighting against neo-Nazism. I am sure that victory will be ours,” he said.
Anatoly Bibilov also touched upon the issue of presidential elections in the Republic of South Ossetia. He thanked the Abkhazian delegation for the attention given to the political processes taking place in South Ossetia.
“I am sure that the people will make the right choice, which will determine the further development of society and the republic as a whole, and we will all be witnesses to this,” the President stressed.
For his part, Lev Kvitsiniya thanked Anatoly Bibilov for the warm welcome and noted that the election process in South Ossetia was going very well and democratically.
“We are not indifferent to the political processes that are taking place in South Ossetia, our people have always supported and will continue to support the choice of the South Ossetian people,” he said.
