Voting in the re-run of the presidential election has ended in South Ossetia

Voting in the presidential elections in South Ossetia in the second round ended at 20:00, and the counting of votes began at the polling stations. At a number of polling stations, violations have been revealed, on which law enforcement agencies are investigating.

In total, 76 polling stations in the territory of South Ossetia and beyond were opened for voting in the presidential elections of the Republic of South Ossetia on Sunday from 8 am, of which 72 were in the capital and districts of the Republic of South Ossetia, two polling stations were in North Ossetia, one each in Moscow and Sukhum .

On May 8, the incumbent head of state Anatoly Bibilov and the leader of the Nykhas party Alan Gagloev are contending for the highest state post of the Republic. The winner will be determined by a simple majority of votes.
