President Alan Gagloev has met with a delegation of the Donetsk People's Republic, which arrived in Tskhinval to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the elected president, the press service of the head of state reports.
The delegation has included: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalia Nikonorova, Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR Vladimir Bidevka and deputy of the People's Council of the DPR Valery Skorokhodov.
Welcoming the guests, the head of state thanked them for participating in the inauguration ceremony and for their attention at such a difficult time for the Donetsk People's Republic.
“We are well aware of everything that is happening now in our friendly Donetsk People's Republic. South Ossetia went through thorns, but the people endured, survived and celebrated their Independence Day. And we wish the people of Donbass to reach the heights and achievements they are aspiring to.
For my part, I would like to note that the people of South Ossetia are always with you. I am sure that peace will reign in the Donbass in the near future. We sincerely wish you this,” he said.
The President also spoke about the help of volunteers from Ossetia in achieving peace in the land of Donbass.
In turn, Natalya Nikonorova congratulated Alan Gagloev on taking office as president and expressed her hope that relations with South Ossetia would continue to develop.
"It is a great honor for us to attend such a landmark event for the people of South Ossetia. Congratulations to you. This is a really big responsibility. And we are sure that you will cope and justify the trust of the South Ossetian people," she said.
Natalia Nikonorova has expressed her sincere gratitude to "the fraternal Ossetian people, who extended a helping hand in the most difficult times for the Donetsk People's Republic."
