The Embassy of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument to the victims of the Beslan tragedy on the square in front of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Kulishki (Alan farmstead), the press service of the diplomatic department reports.

"The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Permanent Mission of North Ossetia-Alania under the President of Russia, representatives of the Ossetian public, the Moscow Ossetian community, as well as the public of Moscow," the press service said.

It was noted that the event was dedicated to the International Children's Day and is held annually on June 1.

On September 1, 2004, terrorists were holding 1,128 hostages in the sports hall of the Beslan school for three days. On September 3, at 13.15, the first explosion thundered in the school gym. 335 people were killed, including 186 children, more than 800 people were injured.
