The Embassy of the Russian Federation in South Ossetia held a reception dedicated to the Day of Russia.

Representatives of the leadership of South Ossetia headed by President Alan Gagloev, employees of the ministries, departments, universities, educational institutions, ex-presidents Leonid Tibilov and Anatoly Bibilov, guests from Russia were invited to the event.

The Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov addressed the audience with congratulations.

"Our great homeland - Russia has a huge centuries-old history. The most wonderful people live in Russia, because the motherland is where you were born, where you live. This is the motherland that united the peoples of different nationalities and faiths. This motherland has brought up great people, of whom we will always be proud. And with our daily work we must multiply what we got, preserve what has been preserved," Kulakhmetov said.

President Alan Gagloev also congratulated all those present and the entire people of Russia on the holiday.

The Head of State has noted that the people of South Ossetia are especially happy to celebrate this holiday, because they consider themselves part of the greater Russian world.

"We remember how in the most difficult time for the Republic, Russia came to the rescue, prevented the extermination of our people and to this day provides us with comprehensive support. South Ossetia has always been focused on its strategic partner - Russia, a country that today is protecting the Russian world, protecting the peoples of Donbass from destruction," the President said and wished Russia a peaceful sky and the fulfillment of all tasks.

Alan Gagloev, on behalf of himself and the people of South Ossetia, congratulated the people of the Russian Federation and the leadership of Russia headed by President Vladimir Putin on the holiday.
