At the Zguder Cemetery in Tskhinval the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia has unveiled a monument to the Red Army soldiers and commanders who died while being treated in the evacuation hospitals No. 3692 and 1960 in 1941-1945.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev, members of Parliament led by Speaker Alan Margiev, head of the Presidential Executive Office Alan Alborov, and the public.

Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov has reminded that two hospitals for wounded soldiers were deployed in South Ossetia in those years.

"The war was took place not only on the battlefield, but also in the rear. From 1941 to 1945, two evacuation hospitals were deployed in Stalinir, which was receiving the wounded and sick soldiers of the Red Army. We were collecting all the information bit by bit during all these years. Unfortunately, many people's health could not withstand it, more than 140 people died from their wounds. Many were taken by parents, relatives, the rest found their last refuge in the Zguder cemetery," Kulakhmetov said.

The Ambassador has emphasized that the memory of the heroes will always live.

"Young girls were working in these hospitals, helping the wounded soldiers. Doctors and residents of Stalinir were doing everything possible for the Red Army soldiers. This obelisk is a tribute to their selfless work and devotion to the Motherland. This is our duty to the generation of heroes who could not live to see Victory Day and our duty to remember them," he has noted.

Kulakhmetov expressed his gratitude to President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev and the staff of the Alan Stone enterprise for their assistance in making the monument.

The participants of the ceremony honored the memory of the soldiers died in the evacuation hospitals during the Great Patriotic War by laying flowers at the monument.
