Commemorative events dedicated to the International Day of the Missing will be held on August 30 in Tskhinval, according to the representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in South Ossetia.

“On Tuesday, at 4 pm, a special service will be held at the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos,” the Mission said. - Also at 16.45, a mailbox will be installed on the square named after Iuane Aguyzata (Gabaraty) to collect the anonymous information about the fate of the missing. After that, there will be speeches by officials."

Representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross have also added that at 20.00 on the Theater Square of the capital of South Ossetia a thematic film will be shown.

On August 30, the International Day of the Missing is marked around the world. For South Ossetia, this is the important and sad date. In the Republic, dozens of families do not have any information about the fate of their loved ones and relatives, who disappeared during the armed conflicts of the 1990s and 2008.
