A meeting of the bilateral committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and North Ossetia-Alania on cross-border cooperation was held in Tskhinval. The meeting was attended by the ministers of internal affairs and the heads of services and departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the two republics, the leadership of the ICC.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia, militia Colonel Valery Gazzaev, welcoming the guests, has noted that the people of the south and north of Ossetia are the same and have always been together at all historical stages.
"This is evidenced by the events of 2008 and the tragic Beslan events. Historically, at some stage, the once united people turned out to be divided. But sooner or later the people will reunite and live in a single legal space. At the moment there is a border between us, there are problems of cross-border crime, and other processes that violate the rule of law," Valery Gazzaev said.
He has added that these manifestations could not be left without the attention of law enforcement agencies, in connection with which it became necessary to hold meetings in such a format, where issues in different areas of the operational activities of the two departments would be resolved.
Interior Minister of North Ossetia Police Lieutenant-General Andrey Sergeyev has noted that this meeting is significant because at the same time a meeting of the CIS interior ministers is being held to discuss similar issues.
“Today the world is in a difficult situation. Russia is fighting fascism and Nazism, which manifests itself with the support of the entire NATO bloc in Ukraine. Every day we are forced to respond to deliberately false reports of terrorist acts coming from abroad. There is a wave of mining of children's, educational, preschool institutions, various authorities. Unfortunately, the opposite side does not take into account either moral or other principles. We record the facts of work from centers from abroad related to remote fraud, crimes. In this regard, the appropriate subdivision has already been formed, a lot of experience is being gained with communication providers, with banking institutions, with various Internet communities, companies,” said Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RNO-A.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia-Alania added that they were ready to talk about the mutual interests of the two departments, about the exchange of information databases, including through the criminal police, state traffic safety.
The law enforcement officers discussed the implementation of the cooperation plan and the implementation of the decision of the bilateral committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the two republics, as well as the issues to improve cooperation for 2023-2024.
Members of the delegation were presented departmental awards for their assistance in solving the tasks assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia.
After the meeting, the guests laid flowers at the memorial complex to the Defenders of Ossetia, and also visited the National Museum.
