In the "Gardens of Peace" in the city of Novafeltria, in the province of Rimini, fir trees will grow from еру seeds brought from Beslan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia reported.

“A flutist Monica Moroni, as part of the delegation from Italy and San Marino, took part in the mourning events dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attack in 2004 in Beslan. At the same time, representatives of the Mothers of Beslan Association gave her the spruce seeds that she had brought to Italy,” the Ministry said.

They added that Mauro Murgia, the head of the representation of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry in Italy, said that the seeds were planted as part of an environmental festival that is developing the "Gardens of Peace" project.

“The trees are mute witnesses to the terrible tragedies of the past. Their seeds and shoots will give us the opportunity to reflect on peace and how to achieve it. The first tree in this garden was the Japanese persimmon, which comes from the plants that survived the bombing of Nagasaki,” said Mauro Murgia.

The delegation from Italy, which included representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia in Italy Mauro Murgia, the flutist from San Marino Monica Moroni and the journalist, an expert on the Caucasus Luca Pingitore, on the invitation of the Association of Victims of Terrorist Acts "Mothers of Beslan" and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy, took part in the commemorative events dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the tragic events in Beslan.

They also visited South Ossetia. In Tskhinval, the flutist gave a small concert. And the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia told the journalists about the cooperation between Italy and South Ossetia and about the work carried out by the representation.
