The Defense Minister of South Ossetia Guards Colonel Marat Pavlov, by order of the President of the Republic Alan Gagloev, paid a working visit to Abkhazia, the press service of the defense department of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.
"Today, the head of the defense department met with the Defense Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia, Colonel General Vladimir Anua. The meeting was also attended by: for the South Ossetian part - Assistant to the Defense Minister of the Republic of South Ossetia, Guards Major General Ruslan Suleymanov, for the Abkhaz part - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia, First Deputy Defense Minister, Colonel-General Beslan Tsvizhba, Deputy Minister, Major-General Nodar Avidzba.The meeting discussed issues of regional security and the procedure for joint interaction, as well as the issues of bilateral military cooperation," the press service said.
Marat Pavlov also met with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Abkhazia, Sergei Shamba.
A number of other events are planned within the framework of the working visit.
