Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev, on the invitation of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, took part in the plenary session of the 5th International Forum "Russian Energy Week", which is taking place on October 12-14 in Moscow, the press service of the Embassy reports.

“Traditionally, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, heads of foreign energy departments and international organizations, heads of major international and Russian energy companies, leading representatives of the business, expert and media communities take part in the forum events,” the press service said.

They have added that Vladimir Putin in his speech has emphasized that the stability and balance of energy markets and the secure future of peoples can only be ensured by joint efforts, taking into account each other's national interests.
“Let's suppose the notorious oil price ceiling will be introduced. But who can guarantee that the same ceiling will not be introduced in other sectors of the economy - in agriculture, in the production of semiconductors, in the production of fertilizers, in metallurgy. And not only in relation to Russia, but also to any other country in the world?” he said, speaking at the plenary session of the Russian Energy Week.

According to the Russian leader, no one will give such guarantees.

“This means that some Western politicians are destroying the global market economy with their adventurous decisions. In fact, they pose a threat to the well-being of billions of people,” Vladimir Putin said.
Over the years, the forum has secured the status of a leading discussion platform for discussing key issues and prospects of the Russian and global energy agenda. There are over three thousand participants from more than 70 countries. Leading experts in this field, managers and representatives of the largest industry companies gathered in the capital's Manege. .

The organizers of the event, the Roscongress Foundation and the Russian Ministry of Energy, with the support of the Moscow government, prepared the extensive business program for the participants. Most of the program is devoted to the international agenda. This need is dictated by the new challenges that the world energy markets have recently faced.
