On Tuesday, in Moscow, Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev met with his Abkhazian counterpart Inal Ardzinba, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia reports.
"During the conversation, a thorough exchange of views took place on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, the mutual intention to deepen and intensify the South Ossetian-Abkhaz dialogue was confirmed," the press service said.
They noted that the parties had touched upon the issue of security and noted the importance of maintaining peace in Transcaucasia.
"A high assessment was given to Russia's efforts to maintain stability in the region, as well as its contribution to the political and socio-economic development of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia," the press service said.
They added that an agreement was reached to continue contacts between the foreign ministries to coordinate further actions on a regular basis.
