Foreign Minister and Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia reported to Gagloev on the work done over the past year

President Alan Gagloev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Akhsar Dzhioev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation Znaur Gassiev. The head of state was reported on the work done for 2022, and also talked about future plans, the press service of the President reports.

Akhsar Dzhioev has stressed that the emphasis in the work of the Foreign Ministry is on the development of relations with the strategic partner of South Ossetia – the Russian Federation.

“Last year, Russia and South Ossetia signed the Program for Socio- Economic Development of the Republic for 2022-2025. To date, the protocol of this program related to the public sector is being worked out. Among other things, we plan to intensify and expand the work with the regions of Russia. We find understanding and support from our Russian colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," he said.

At the same time, Akhsar Dzhioev has added that the Foreign Ministry intends to continue to assist the relevant ministries and departments of South Ossetia in establishing contacts with the Russian Federation.

Alan Gagloev was also told about cooperation with the foreign ministries of the countries friendly to South Ossetia.

For his part, Znaur Gassiev has noted that in previous years, in conditions of total isolation due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Embassy of South Ossetia carried out active work to supply the Republic with medicines and test systems.

“Now, having entered the active phase, we intend to work as our first duty in the field of economic development of South Ossetia. Attracting investments to the Republic is also a priority. A detailed plan on this issue has already been prepared,” he said.

The head of state thanked Akhsar Dzhioev and Znaur Gassiev for their active work and expressed hope for the successful implementation of the plans.
