Foreign Ministers of South Ossetia and Abkhazia Akhsar Dzhioev and Inal Ardzinba in a telephone conversation discussed the current agenda of bilateral cooperation, including maintaining an active political dialogue in the context of regional security.
This was announced on Thursday evening by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
During the conversation, the parties paid special attention to the internal political situation in neighboring Georgia and expressed concern about the escalation of tension and possible destabilization of the situation, fraught with undesirable consequences in the South Caucasus region.
Dzhioev and Ardzinba agreed on the need to pay close attention to the situation developing in Georgia, as well as to coordinate joint actions to leveling possible threats to the Republic of South Ossetia and the Republic of Abkhazia.
It has been emphasized the role of the Russian Federation as a guarantor of peace and security in the region.
