The border department of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of South Ossetia is celebrating its professional holiday. This year marks the 105th anniversary of the formation of the border troops. On May 28, 1918, a decree of the Council of People's Commissars on the establishment of the border guard was signed.
Throughout the history of the state, border agencies have been an essential element in ensuring its security on the state border. And today, the border guards worthily continue the glorious traditions of previous generations, show examples of stamina and endurance in everyday life, selflessness, courage and heroism in a combat situation.
Sometimes, at the risk of their lives, border guards carry out operational and service tasks to combat trans-border crime, justifying the high trust of the people. Being a border guard is always an honor. This profession requires determination, will, courage, sturdiness, justice and honor.
The entire security system of the state rests on such people.
Russian border guards have been protecting the state border together with their South Ossetian counterparts, which is a guarantee of stability and security in the Republic and the region as a whole.
