President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev met with the fighters of the Alania battalion Guram Tskhovrebov and Dmitry Bekoity, the press service of the head of state reports.
Gagloev noted the courage and bravery of the fighters, which they show every day during the Special Military Operation, and thanked all the battalion employees for the charity events organized in South Ossetia.
"First of all, I want to thank you and in your person the leadership of the Alania battalion, all the fighters for the fact that, despite the situation, you find the time and energy to personally come, please with attention and gifts our little fellow citizens – pupils of boarding schools in South Ossetia and an orphanage. It's worth a lot.
I signed decrees on awarding еру “Defender of the Fatherland” medals to the Ossetian fighters from various units. I personally handed over some of the awards to them the day before in the special operation zone, but the rest has not yet reached the recipients. One of them is Dmitry, who came to his homeland today,” the press service quotes the President.
For the courage and bravery shown in the performance of military duty during the special military operation, a fighter of the Alania volunteer battalion, Dmitry Bekoity, was awarded the Defender of the Fatherland Medal.
Alan Gagloev once again thanked him for his service and having emphasized that every citizen of Ossetia is proud of the heroes who are fighting for a common cause.
“You have a great responsibility. Every resident of Ossetia understands that on the front line you defend our common interests - the security of our common Motherland. Happy New Year. Be healthy, we are waiting for you to go home with victory,” Alan Gagloev said .
The President presented Guram Tskhovrebov with a commemorative coin.
“We have previously met with Guram at the presentation of the SVO commemorative coin, which was issued by the National Bank of the Republic. The coin that I am handing over today was also issued by the National Bank in honor of the 15th anniversary of Russia’s recognition of the independence of South Ossetia. Guram is among those guys who were fighting for the independence of our Republic, among those who are building their present and future in their homeland,”Alan Gagloev said .
For their part, the fighters of the Alania battalion expressed gratitude to the head of state for the constant attention and support of the SVO participants.
