South Ossetian diplomats, led by Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev, took part in the event at the Cathedral of Our Lady in Moscow dedicated to the canonization by the Roman Catholic Church of the Venezuelan blessed Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles.
Among those invited were representatives of the Russian government agencies and the Russian Foreign Ministry, the diplomatic corps accredited in Moscow, and the church parishioners, according to the Foreign Ministry's press service.
This event is a significant moment for Venezuela. Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and Mother Carmen Rendiles became the first Venezuelans in its history to be canonized by the Vatican.
