President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev presented state awards to the veterans of military operations for the freedom and independence of South Ossetia, as well as to the employees of law enforcement agencies and security forces of the Republic. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
The solemn ceremony dedicated to the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day took place in the building of the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Addressing those gathered, Gagloev noted the invaluable contribution of the defenders of the Fatherland to the preservation of peace and stability in South Ossetia.
“There are many tragic dates in the modern history of South Ossetia. In the most difficult years for the Republic, you stood up to defend the Fatherland, fighting selflessly and defending the right of our state to sovereign development.
It is the duty of each of us to maintain peace and tranquility in our land, to strive for progressive development for the well-being of our citizens, for the prosperity of our Motherland,” said Alan Gagloev.
He has reminded that today South Ossetian fighters are actively participating in the special military operation for the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
“Just as our grandfathers and great-grandfathers returned with Victory during the Great Patriotic War, let our fighters now return home with Victory safe and sound,” the leader of the Republic of South Ossetia.
By presidential decree, Albert Naniev and Gennady Parastaev, employees of the State Security Service, were awarded the honorary title "Honored Security Officer of the Republic of South Ossetia" for conscientious performance of military duty and active work on the protection of state facilities.
