A delegation of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry, headed by Minister Akhsar Dzhioev, took part in the events dedicated to the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people. This was reported by the press service of the Republic's foreign policy department.
“As part of the working trip of the delegation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia to Brest, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev took part in the requiem meeting “In memory of the fallen - be worthy!” which was held in the memorial complex “Brest Hero Fortress,” the message says.
The delegation also laid flowers at the mass grave in the village of Chernavchitsy, Brest district, Brest region, where the remains of a native of South Ossetia, junior sergeant of the 168th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 55th Guards Rifle Division, Bagrat Maksimovich Dryaev, who died a hero’s death on July 26, 1944, are buried in the bloody battles for the liberation of the Brest region.
As added by the press service, representatives of South Ossetia were also present at the military-historical reconstruction of “June 22, 1941. Brest Fortress”, deployed on the territory of the Kobrin fortification of the fortress.
