Entrepreneurs from the Chelyabinsk region, who recently arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit, visited the Ir-Basalt basalt fiber production plant the day before.
Director of the enterprise, Roman Dzhioev, told in detail about the plant’s products, the volume of material produced, showed the guests the process of its production, and also shared the plans for the further development of the enterprise.
Dzhioev has noted that basalt fiber consists of 83% natural stone, and 12% from a special mixture for manufacturing.
“During the process of recycling material, we emit virtually nothing into the atmosphere. We direct the extra degrees of heat into a special chamber where the fiber is dried,” he noted.
The director emphasized that in August next year the company plans to increase production volumes.
According to him, the plant generates a lot of thermal energy, and the company plans to use it to grow crops in greenhouses.
“We are designing greenhouses on the neighboring plot; if the project turns out to be economically profitable, we will start construction next year. Along with the increase in production, a lot of additional thermal energy will be generated which we will use to operate the greenhouses. This is a completely different activity, but there is a prospect,” Dzhioev has noted.
The director of the plant noted that the enterprise was maximally secured with three degrees of electrical protection.
“Our equipment can be without electricity for a very short time, and in order to minimize risks and avoid accidents, we have provided a backup power supply source, emergency and urban, for safety," he noted.
Dzhioev emphasized that the plant has all the conditions for work; the equipment is modern, manufactured to the requirements of the enterprise.
“The plant employs 62 employees, but in the future it is planned to increase the number of workers and employ another 70 people. We appealed to the leadership of the Republic to open a faculty in our profile on the basis of the multidisciplinary college, since we need specialists. In the future, they will be in demand at other factories that will be opened in the Republic,” he said.
Dzhioev has added that almost all of the plant’s products are exported to Russia.
