South Ossetia intends to take steps toward rapprochement with Belarus, the head of the Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Akhsar Dzhioev,stated.
The Minister has emphasized that, as a first step, humanitarian, cultural and sporting cooperation between the two countries will be strengthened.
"Belarus is the interesting country for us, with shared historical ties," Dzhiev noted.
He has added that cooperation between South Ossetia and Belarus is developing not only bilaterally but also through the Union State of Belarus and Russia, which opens up additional opportunities for interaction.
