Murat Gassiev defeated the Dane Kem Ljungqvist in the main fight of the IBA Night of Champions tournament in Yerevan.

Gassiev knocked out his opponent in the last minute of the fifth round.

The victory was the 31st in the Ossetian athlete's professional career with two defeats. Ljungqvist suffered his first defeat with 18 victories.

The last time Gassiev entered the ring was in September 2023. Then he lost to the Swede Otto Wallin by split decision in Belek, Turkey.

The South Ossetian athlete Arsen Dzhioev will compete for a medal at the World Freestyle Wrestling Championship.

The large-scale competition will be held from October 23 to 25 in Tirana (Albania) among wrestlers under 23 years old, the athlete himself told IA “Res”.
