The Geneva security meetings in the South Caucasus are devoted exclusively to the relations of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Georgia

Representatives of Russia and Georgia can discuss bilateral relations between the countries on the sidelines of the Geneva Security Discussion in the South Caucasus, which will take place on July 2-3, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin.

On July 24, the delegation of South Ossetia will go to Abkhazia on a working visit.

An agreement on international motor traffic will be concluded between the governments of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Republic of South Ossetia. The press service of the RA State Administration for Transport reports.

The report notes that for the Abkhaz part the document will be signed by the head of the State Transport Directorate, Rovestan Gabliya, for the part of South Ossetia by the Chairman of the Industry, Energy and Transport Committee Batradz Sanakoev.

Russian sappers examined a total area of ​​22.83 hectares in South Ossetia, 208 explosive items were discovered during the entire period of operation, the press service of the Republic’s Emergencies Ministry told the "Res" agency. Pyrotechnic works in the Republic will continue until July 15.

A major event is taking place in Moscow - the II International Forum on the Development of Parliamentarism, in which the delegation of the Parliament of South Ossetia, led by Speaker Alan Tadtayev, is taking part. According to the press service of the Parliament, the delegation has also included Deputy Chairman of the Parliament Alexander Pliev and Chairman of the Committee on Legislation on Law and Local Self-Government of the Parliament Alan Gabatty.

The 48th round of Geneva discussions will be held on July 2-3

The South Ossetian delegation went to Geneva to participate in the next round of the Geneva discussions. The main goal of the dialogue remains the development of bilateral legally binding agreements on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Work on these documents began in 2008.

In early June, the co-chairs arrived in South Ossetia and discussed the agenda of the upcoming round with members of the South Ossetian delegation.

At the end of May, the US Congress adopted an act to support the European integration initiatives of the Georgian government. The content of the document assumes the assistance of Tbilisi on the issues of conducting legitimate elections, strengthening defense capabilities and cyber security, as well as countering the “Russian occupation”. According to the congressmen, the adopted act clearly demonstrates Washington’s interest in developing and maintaining democratic values ​​in the Transcaucasian republic.

The effect of the deputies' work will not be if they hit the new political race.

The State Duma of Russia on Thursday ratified a protocol on amending the agreement between the Russian Federation and South Ossetia on cooperation and integration, providing for the lifting of mutual restrictions on the length of stay of citizens in the territories of both countries.

The corresponding bill was submitted to the State Duma by Russian President Vladimir Putin in April of this year.
