The Moscow Ossetian community is the pride of both South Ossetia and North Ossetia, since Moscow is our common historical homeland, President Anatoly Bibilov said during a meeting with members of the Moscow Ossetian community, which took place in Moscow the day before.
"This is a fact, and I'm proud of it. The most prominent Ossetians living at different times in Moscow, whom we are proud of and whose names we pronounce with our heads held high, gathered in this community," the press service of the President and the government reports the words of the head of state.
The President expressed his bewilderment about the situation prevailing in the community today, noting that it`s distressing to observe the ongoing processes, “when we, in Ossetia, which is divided today, are trying to interact, integrate and unite”.
“A lot of work is being done by the head of North Ossetia, Vyacheslav Zelimkhanovich Bitarov, and me. I can say that such a close relationship in the integration processes between the north and south of Ossetia was long gone: we created a single commission to develop the language so that the language of Kosta Levanovich Khetagurov does not deform and always remains as it is. This is one example.
In addition, we are going to hold a joint meeting of the governments of South and North Ossetia, we are working together between the legislative bodies. By these processes we are trying to unite Ossetia. And if it is still difficult to talk about geographical and political unification, then integration is already taking place, both cultural and sports, and in all other areas,” he said.
Calling on all Ossetians for maximum consolidation, Anatoly Bibilov has stressed that, unfortunately, there are forces that use every opportunity to declare themselves, and in the most impartial way.

Of course, every person has the right to express his vision of everything around him, but, in principle, the community is also an aid to those who are on one side of the political barricades, and those who are on the other one. The Ossetian community should act as an assistant and prompter, should influence all processes positively, and not wave r fists and so on,” he noted.
According to the President, Ossetians holding serious positions should help by their authority to find solutions to existing problems in South Ossetia and North Ossetia.
“When Alexander Borisovich Totoonov was a senator and when there were serious problems in South Ossetia with the adoption of the State budget, I, as the Chairman of Parliament, had no one to turn to. I did not know how to get out of this impasse, and I turned to him. Together with Alexander Borisovich and Valentina Ivanovna Matvienko we solved the problem. And at that time it was to some extent a political crisis.
It is also known that with Alexander Borisovich and Kazbek Kutsukovich Taysaev, we pay great attention to the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. We helped and help to find solutions to political and organizational issues, as well as the development of bilateral relations with South Ossetia. I am pleased to say that these people, representing the Moscow Ossetian community, helped me to establish relations with the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. It is important that the Moscow Diaspora support us in emerging issues that we cannot resolve without its participation,”he stressed.
At the end of his speech, Anatoly Bibilov expressed the hope that the situation would be resolved, all the negative things would subside and people trying to loosen the situation would understand that there could be no power if society is divided.
“I sincerely hope that all this will go into oblivion and in the dry residue we will get a capable diaspora, bound by our traditions and a strong desire to help each other, help both South Ossetia and North Ossetia.
After all, you are a centrifugal force for other Ossetian diasporas. And I would very much like the Moscow Diaspora to be the core that unites all the Ossetian Diasporas in the Russian Federation. I am sincerely confident that any disagreements will dissolve in the big tasks and goals that the Moscow diaspora puts within itself and, of course, with regard to South and North Ossetia.
