Tunnel Vision Syndrome: South Ossetian Foreign Ministry has condemned the UN Human Rights Council Resolution

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry issued a harsh commentary on the adoption of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution "Cooperation with Georgia" in Geneva on October 8.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry called the document a manifestation of "political myopia" and a loss of objectivity.

The South Ossetian Foreign Ministry expressed regret that "a once authoritative international body has begun to suffer from tunnel vision syndrome, trampling on its own traditions and statutory principles, and has completely lost objectivity, impartiality, and professionalism."

South Ossetian Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev reported to President Alan Gagloyev on the results of his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

The diplomats' working meeting took place in Sochi on October 1.

According to Dzhioev, the talks were productive.

"The meeting, as usual, took place in a warm atmosphere. We discussed the full range of bilateral relations and touched on various topics of interagency cooperation," he said.

Dzhioev placed particular emphasis on the gratitude and positive assessments conveyed by the Russian Minister.

A telephone conversation took place between South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev and First Deputy Secretary of Security Council of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliev.

During the conversation, the head of state congratulated Rashid Nurgaliev on his birthday, noting his significant contribution to the development and strengthening of friendly and strategic relations between Russia and South Ossetia.

Nurgaliev's role in ensuring security and stability in the region, as well as in promoting deeper cooperation at various levels, was particularly emphasized.

South Ossetia will participate in the International Media Seminar in Moscow

Media representatives from South Ossetia and the CIS will participate in the prestigious international seminar for heads and journalists of news agencies and media outlets from the CIS countries.

The event, organized by Russia's leading news agency TASS, will be holding in Moscow from October 13 to 19.

As part of the comprehensive program, the participants, including Maria Meleshikhina, a journalist of the South Ossetian news agency "Res," will gain an insight into the work of one of the largest media outlets – TASS.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has recognized the achievements of prominent South Ossetian diplomat and statesman Murat Dzhioyev, congratulating him on his anniversary, according to the statement of the South Ossetian Foreign Ministry's press service.

"During the meeting with Foreign Minister Akhsar Dzhioev in Sochi, Lavrov, who has known Murat Kuzmich for many years, has asked him to personally convey his congratulations on his anniversary," the press service said.

Tskhinval commemorated the Russian peacekeepers killed in the terrorist attack

The flower-laying ceremony was held in Tskhinval on Friday to commemorate the Russian peacekeepers in Tskhinval, the press service of the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia reports.

"Employees of the Russian Embassy in the Republic and the official representative of the Russian FSB in South Ossetia, Yevgeny Ragozin, took part in a flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Russian peacekeepers killed in the terrorist attack on October 3, 2008, at the peacekeeping force headquarters in Tskhinval," the press service has noted.

South Ossetia is participating in the conference in Dagestan dedicated to the quality of education

Gulnara Kozaeva, a senior researcher in the Ossetian Language Department at the South Ossetian Research Institute and a Candidate of Pedagogy, is participating in the international scientific and practical conference in Dagestan, the institute's press service reports.

"At the conference, 'Towards Effective and Sustainable Improvement of Education Quality,' Gulnara Kozaeva presented a report on strengthening international academic partnerships in science and education," the press service has noted.

The event is being held from September 29 to October 3.

Konstantin Dzhussoev and Badra Gunba attended the equestrian competitions at Mykuashta

The South Ossetian delegation led by Prime Minister Konstantin Dzhussoev and the Abkhaz leadership, led by President Badra Gunba, attended the equestrian competitions at the historic Mykuashta glade, the Prime Minister's press service reported.

The spectacular event was timed to coincide with Victory Day and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia and attracted hundreds of spectators.

Six teams competed for the championship.
