JOINT APPEAL
Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Chairman of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation, Mirinov S.M., Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation, B.V. Gryzlov.

Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia are extremely concerned with the official statements and acts of the Georgian leadership in the area of Georgian-Ossetian conflict.
There are no more doubts that the Georgian side is deliberately destabilizing the situation in the conflict area and is implementing a plan for forceful conflict resolution. This is proved by sudden activation of military forces on the bordering territories.

On May 21, 2006 residents of village Khelchua were attacked by a group of Georgian military men.

In six days, on May 27, 2006 simultaneously in different locations were abducted more that fifty peaceful residents of Ossetian nationality, mainly citizens of Russian Federation, they were transported to Georgian territory and were roughly interrogated.

On the same day Georgian Special Forces attacked the trilateral peacekeeping observation point.

Ossetia is closely connected with Russian since long time and we are not going to change the historical choice of our ancestors.

We hereby, would like to protest against systematic violations by the Georgian side of the earlier achieved agreements on the large-scale conflict resolution and explicit preparations for military actions.
Parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia, expressing the will of the nation, are asking to condemn provocative actions of Georgia against the Republic of South Ossetia and take all necessary measures to insure security and rights of Russian citizens that reside in South Ossetia.
