SERGEY FEDOROV: “ANY NATION SHOULD HAVE A right FOR SELF-DETERMINATION AND THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST RESPECT THAT right”

At the international press-center for journalists was given a press-conference by the observes of the international Institute on election monitoring. Questions of numerous journalists were answered by observes from Spain - Manuel Garcia, Venezuela – Luis Tackson and Lithuania – Sergey Feodorov.

According to Manuel Garsia, their mission to South Ossetia is to observe the transparency and democracy of the referendum and the RSO Presidential Elections on 12th November. “The forthcoming event is of a big interest for all the world, that is why so many observers came here. We understand that it is a very crucial moment for the people of South Ossetia and we will try to carry out our commitments. Our task is to register all the violations and to convey our conclusions at the end of the referendum”, - he noted.
Talking about the current urgency of the problem of unrecognized states in all the world the deputy of the Seim of Lithuania Sergey Feodorov said that “any nation should have a right for self-determination and the international community must respect that right”.
Answering the question on the recognition of the referendum results the deputy of the Parliament of Venezuela Luis Taskon underlined that “declaration of nations will is demonstration of democracy and a nation that would like to be free – will be free, those nations that achieved independence will help you with that”. As an example Luis Takson gave the unceasing struggle of the people of Venezuela against the imperial policy of the USA.
