Launched by Georgian politicians and mass media hysterics shoes the readiness of Tbilisi for further escalation of tension in relations with South Ossetia and Abkhazia. This was stated by the President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity in the interview to IA «Res». He has also noted that «as it was more than once Georgia designedly went in for hysterics».
«All this is done to prepare grounds for aggression what is indicated by the actions of Georgia’s power structures. Acts of terrorism, shelling, gathering troops to the conflict zone, warlike gesture – all this is a purposeful escalation of tension and at this backdrop any minor incident may serve as a cause for hostilities»-stated the President. He mentioned that Georgia relies on transoceanic support, what is confirmed by recalling of Georgia’s ambassador to RF after the visit to Georgia of US State Secretary Kondolisa Rais.
«The visit of US State Secretary to Georgia only deteriorated the situation. The assurances of Kondolisa Rais of US support were understood in Tbilisi as an encouragement for their aggressive policy. Although Rais had declaratively called for peace and non use of force, a specific actions of Georgian authorities tells of the opposite effect of her visit»-noted Eduard Kokoity.
