The international conference of the Scientific Society of the Caucasus researchers will take place in Tskhinval. The conference is called «Problems of the Caucasus and modern Caucasus exploration, the role of external and internal factors in the region development». The action started yesterday, on June, 30, in the capital of North Ossetia. Today, on July 1, the participants of the conference are intending to continue the dialogue in the capital of South Ossetia. The conference co-organizer on the South-Ossetian part is the South-Ossetian research institute. According to the director of the research institute Robert Gagloev, the question of conflicts, demography and a role of mass-media will be considered at the conference.
«There are the scientists and experts from Russia, Germany, Abkhazia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Poland, Turkey among the participants of the conference»,-Gagloev has noted. As he has said, the foreign researchers will tell about a role of the Caucasus in geopolitical strategy of the USA, about a place of the Caucasus in the Turkish-Russian relations, about features of Islamic religion of the North Caucasian Diasporas in the republics of Central Asia. Gagloev has also underlined that problems of the Caucasus are also widely enlightened in the reports of the Russian scientists devoted to the policy of Russia in the Southern Caucasus. Participants of the conference are intending to give special attention to "painful" Caucasian points: to the genocide theme as a means of political influence, to historical gambles on the Caucasian themes and to influence of various versions of the Caucasian war history on the modern times. The aim of establishing the Scientific Society of the Caucasus researchers -is to consolidate all healthy scientific forces for the sake of preservation and development of the Caucasian territories. It is already the second conference of Scientific Society of the Caucasus researchers.
