The visit of the South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev to Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, as well as his meetings with the heads of state, including Vladimir Putin, indicate that the Republic has significant opportunities to strengthen its position at the global level.
As noted by the head of the information and analytical department of the Presidential Executive Office of the Republic of South Ossetia, a political scientist Yuri Vazagov, during the press conference in Sputnik, South Ossetia, along with other friends and allies of Russia, takes a position regarding the establishment of a fair world order, taking into account the rights of peoples and the inadmissibility of interference in the affairs of other countries.
"If we consider the political results of the recent meetings, they were certainly aimed at strengthening our positions in the international arena. We held talks with the states with which the agreements had been signed and diplomatic relations had been established. Maintaining continuity and further developing already established contacts plays a key role. In international politics, as in other areas, it is necessary to adhere to consistent and active position," the expert has noted.
According to him, South Ossetia has quite broad prospects in the international arena to more actively and successfully promote its agenda and view of ongoing processes with the help of friends and allies.
"I think that in the coming years, all these processes will be only growing, not only in the framework of celebrating international events, but also through bilateral contacts that were achieved earlier. We must clearly understand that the policy of diplomatic isolation that Georgia has built around South Ossetia with the support of its Western partners may collapse in the future, but for this, all necessary efforts must be made," Vazagov said.
In conclusion, the expert has added that in interaction with other countries it is necessary to actively promote one's point of view, participate in all platforms and build systematic, consistent work in this direction on a daily basis.
