Several tens of supporters of ex-presidential candidate, the opposition leader of South Ossetia Alla Dzhioeva held the protest rally in the center of Tskhinval in connection with the actions of Parliament, which had voted against resignation of Attorney General Taymuraz Khugaev and the Chief Justice Atsamaz Bichenov on December 14. However, soon, the demonstrators decided to stop the action, as it was unauthorized; according to one of the leaders of the opposition - Sergey Zasseev - they are going officially ask the authorities for legal resolution and hold a rally on Sunday, if the points of the agreement have not been fulfilled.
According to him, today is the working day and they were not able to gather all of their supporters, but the weekend action will be larger. Another member of the opposition - Alan Pliev – has informed IA "Res" that they keep contact with the authorities of the Republic, stressing that the dialogue is constructive and the all their demands are fixed by the leadership. "We were heard out, the dialogue was constructive. Next week, on Tuesday, another meeting with the interim president will take place"- he said.
It should be reminded, December 14 the Parliament of South Ossetia did not approve the submission of the outgoing President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity on resignation of the RSO Attorney General Taymuraz Khugaev and the Chief Justice of South Ossetia Atsamaz Bichenov. 15 deputies had voted for resignation of Attorney General Taymuraz Khugaev, as many voted against. One ballot was declared invalid. Eight deputies voted for resignation of the Chief Justice Atsamaz Bichenov, 22 - against. One ballot has also been declared invalid. Opposition has declared that the actions of the Parliament endanger the fulfillment of terms of the compromise agreement with the authorities. Dzhioeva has made the deputies and the Russian mediatory mission, as the guarantor of the agreement, responsible for possible destabilization.
