The international organization "Federation of Peace and Harmony" will inform the Council of Europe on the elections in South Ossetia. This was declared by a member of a group of international observers, representing the Russian public organizations, Gennady Mikhailov at a press conference of the CEC Information Centre. "We intend to bring information about the elections in South Ossetia to the Council of Europe, which is represented by my organization - said Mikhailov. - Despite the fact that the Council of Europe has its own sources of information and Europe has not recognized South Ossetia, however, there is a group that works for the collection of information, where we present the material after its observation and inform the Council of Europe as we see it. And I am sure that this time we will bring them to the true information on transparency, democracy and legitimacy of the today's elections".
In turn, the head of the international observers group, representing the Russian public organizations Vasily Volkov has said that they guarantee honest and open observing of the elections.
"We will draw conclusions based only on the data that we ourselves have received as a result of communication with voters, organizers of the election, and we hope that our position will be perceived properly by all participants of the electoral process," - he said. According to him, the group visited 11 polling stations at the time of their opening, and, in general, no violations were recorded.
"Everything was quiet. The elections are held within the legal boundaries, all the polls are equipped with appropriate technical equipment, the voter lists are properly issued, "- underlined Vasily Volkov. The observers have also noted the high professionalism of the members of the CEC of South Ossetia, whose work, in their opinion, is fruitful.
